Suffice it to say that some key names make an appearance while skulking in the shadows and hacking computers like a boss. There are more than a few hints at the world of Human Revolution and the original Deus Ex for the fans that care, but then again, if you played Deus Ex then you already kind of knew how it all ends up anyway. I won’t go into the story too much, as part of the fun in Deus Ex is piecing together the overarching storyline, but on the whole The Missing Link fits nicely into the main game’s narrative without actually adding anything you can’t live without.
This makes it feel slightly disconnected from the main story, but it’s a better solution than having to replay the entire game up to a certain point just because you didn’t have dozens of save games. Rather than having to have a save game at the ready to access the DLC, you simply start it from the main menu’s Downloadable Content section. In The Missing Link, however, Jensen is rudely awakened on board the Belltower cargo ship he hitched a ride on, finding himself in a bit of a predicament without access to his augmentation upgrades and weapons. As Adam Jensen departs Heng Sha in a cryostasis chamber on board a freighter, the original game simply had him wake up at his planned destination some time later. The Missing Link expands upon Human Revolution‘s story at a point where it seemed like nothing was actually missed, let alone a link. It's 3:42AM.ĭoes anyone know how to FORCE this quest to continue? Can I just kill the quest and restart it? Maybe if I do it all in one go it will work.
So far, today, I've done the same crap as yesterday with killing the scorched, no meg, change servers, rinse, repeat another 9 times. I DID leave Top of the World before logging out. It just throws it away when I logged out. When I log in again, I'm right back where I was the day before. By this time I've been playing about 7 hours. We talk and we agree I'll go check on her raiders. After 11 times doing that, Meg FINALLY shows up with her two raiders. So, I go down to the mezzanine and kill the scorched. I check the quest data and there's STILL no details about what to do. Then tells me to get busy and clean up the mezzanine before Meg gets there. She does her line about how great she thinks her spoof of David is. The quest marker sends me up to the Observatory level and I talk to Rose. When I get back there, all the quest marker says is "Complete Rose's Quests to Gain Her Trust" with NO instructions on what to do next. Today, I decided I'd finish the quest though. So, when I actually had to as part of the quest, I went and did other quests for a week or so because I was already burned out on doing that. I got bored of having to kill the scorched on the mezzanine every time I went there. Yesterday, after playing for several hours, I decided I'd finish this quest line. And I've tried server hopping for a couple of HOURS to ZERO effect. So, don't suggest that I keep clicking on her. The quest line "The Missing Link" has stopped working for me.
